Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini sounded pleased with his team’s qualification to the next round of this year’s Europa League after a 1-1 draw with Roma in Seville earlier this evening. Pellegrini claimed his side were superior to Jose Mourinho’s Roma over the two legs.

“I am very happy with the qualification, there are still two games left to try to reach the first place. Having 10 points out of 12 and getting 4 points from Roma in two games is very nice,” Pellegrini told reporters after the final whistle.

“We were the better team in Rome and even today in the first half we dominated the game more than they ever did. The second half was more balanced.”

“I am very proud of this group, my players have great ambition and great team spirit. There are no regular starters. There is no ‘A’ team and no ‘B’ team. There are 25 players who are focused on making progress in the two games left to play.”
