Roma are making careful evaluations regarding their defensive department in light of Kumbulla’s return to the capital.
The capital club will look to bring in extra reinforcements once they sort out the list of players not essential to the new project that is already underway at Trigoria.
According to Il Messaggero, Roma are specifically discussing what to do with the likes of Chris Smalling and Marash Kumbulla.
Whereas Smalling is mostly scrutinized for his extensive injury history, the newspaper reports that Roma have deemed Marash Kumbulla to not be quick enough for De Rossi’s system.
The Albanian centreback recently concluded his loan with Sassuolo but is unlikely to stay in the capital.
Kumbulla is not being considered by Roma as De Rossi thinks the player doesn’t have the right characteristics to fulfill his demands on the pitch.
