Marash Kumbulla insists on staying at Roma

Andy Mattioli

Despite numerous transfer rumours linking him with an exit from the capital club, Marash Kumbulla is reportedly insistent on staying at Roma beyond the January window, claims Corriere dello Sport.

The Albanian centreback has failed to make an impact so far this season ever since he sustained an injury in Roma’s win over Monza in August.

After making full recovery, the ex-Verona man made only a brief league appearance with Lecce and in the Europa League with Helsinki.

Meanwhile, Roma want to further strengthen their defense and add a centreback that fits Mourinho’s requirements.

Therefore, Roma General Manager Tiago Pinto plans on holding a meeting with Kumbulla and his entourage, which will serve to communicate the club’s willingness to part ways with the Albanian international.
