Roma defender Marash Kumbulla is said to be nearing the final stretch of his recovery from an ACL tear suffered earlier this year.
According to Corriere dello Sport, the Albanian centreback has made considerable progress in his recovery and is now expected to complete the final phase of rehabilitation before returning to the pitch.
The newspaper predicts Kumbulla will make first appearance on the pitch for Roma’s Primavera team within the next month. This will serve as a test to establish his condition and assess the options for going forward with his return to Jose Mourinho’s disposal.
It has only been around six months since Kumbulla underwent knee surgery – the current practice is to wait seven or eight months before applying heavier workload.
