Marash Kumbulla to be called up against Napoli or Juventus

Andy Mattioli

Albanian defender Marash Kumbulla is reportedly one step away from returning to Jose Mourinho’s disposal following a lengthy absence.

After completing his recovery from an ACL tear, Kumbulla is set to make his return to Roma’s bench in the coming days.

As anticipated by Mourinho himself in his recent media appearances, Corriere dello Sport confirms that Kumbulla could receive his first official call-up in months either in the next league fixture with Napoli or on the final game of the year against Juventus on 30 December.

Kumbulla’s return will grand Mourinho more options in the defense, which – given Evan Ndicka’s imminent departure for AFCON and Chris Smalling’s prolonged injury absence – is going to be very important as Roma continue their busy calendar across several competitions.
