Lecce manager Marco Baroni sounded unhappy after his team went down to 10 men in tonight’s loss to Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
The Italian coach praised his side for the effort of putting up a fight in search of the equalizer in the second half.
“It started uphill with them scoring a goal, we knew we could suffer their set-pieces,” he told DAZN after the final whistle. “Then came the red card, which in my opinion was a bit excessive. That episode ultimately made the difference.”
“The performance was very good, clearly a pity because the result is a defeat. We wanted to do well and I would have liked to have seen a match where we didn’t concede after a few minutes.”
