Former Roma attacker Marco Delvecchio analyzed the Giallorossi’s recent attacking struggles in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Tammy Abraham is a charismatic player with a big personality,” Delvecchio told the Italian newspaper. “He has often taken the team on his back. Now there is a period of slight decline. Maybe now he doesn’t have much confidence in himself.”
“I am sure that he will soon unlock himself and return to being the player from last season. He just needs to score.”
“Before it was him would push the team forward, now it is the team that will have to help him up. I really think that by scoring one or two goals in a row he will forget all the doubts of the last few weeks.”
“The real worry would be if Roma were uncapable of creating chances. That’s not the case. They create plenty. You just have to be more cynical in front of goal.”
“I am convinced it is just an unlucky period in time,” he conclude.
