Brazilian attacker Marcos Leonardo is the favorite to land a January transfer to Roma.
After talks for a move in the summer collapsed due to Santos’ compromised position in the league table, Roma agreed to postpone negotiations for a permanent deal to January.
The Giallorossi are still determined to honor their promise to Leonardo who was personally pushing to join the capital club.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma have already a preliminary agreement in place with Santos for a fee of up to €10 millions plus add-ons, with the player set to pen a contract until 2028.
In the meantime, Leonardo continues to score for Santos, collecting 11 goals in 19 appearances this season.
