Marcos Leonardo pushing to join Roma

Roma continue to be engaged in talks for Santos attacker Marcos Leonardo.

Leonardo – who earlier today scored a crucial last-minute equalizer for Santos in a 1-1 draw with Athletico Paranaense – is personally pushing to join the capital club, reports Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport.

The player and his family continue to insist on moving to Italy and signing a long-term deal with Roma.

Di Marzio reports that negotiations between Roma and Santos are still underway despite some recent events caused the talks to stall in the form of Santos coordinator Paulo Roberto Falcao resigning over sexual harassment allegations, forcing the Brazilian side to restructure their top level management amid talks with Roma and Leonardo’s entourage.

The agents of Marcos Leonardo will meet with Santos tomorrow and continue to work on a final agreement in order to enable the player’s transfer to Roma.
