Roma have postponed the signing of Brazilian attacker Marcos Leonardo until the January window.
Leonardo had been in advanced talks to join the Giallorossi this summer.
However, Santos blocked the deal as they faced relegation and dealt with several turbulent circumstances within their management including their coach being sacked and one executive resigning over sexual harassment accusations.
Now, Corriere dello Sport reports Roma are favored to sign Leonardo in January.
Santos are expected to lower their demands and thus enable Leonardo to complete the move he so desired in July.
In all likelihood, Leonardo will join Roma in January and could be loaned out to another Serie A team for the remainder of the season.
