Talks for Marcos Leonardo between Roma and Santos seem to have hit a wall as the Brazilian side intend to keep the player until January.

The 20-year-old attacker refused to train with his team following their decision to not grant him his transfer request.

However, after meeting with the new coach and confronting himself with the club’s board, Leonardo is reportedly back in training for Santos as he awaits a final decision on his future.

In a recent interview with Bolavip, Leonardo’s father, Marcos Almeida, revealed that his son suffered a mental breakdown when Santos refused to maintain their promise and let him join Roma.

“He struggled mentally in recent weeks. Now that he recovered he asked to go back to training and I guided him in doing so.”

“I’m not against my son returning to training despite being upset that Santos didn’t keep their promise to sell him.”
