Mario Rui expected to debut against Chievo

After a long absence due to injury and a long recovery process, the time has finally arrived for Mario Rui.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese left-back will finally make his long awaited Roma debut in Thursday’s match against Chievo.

The ex-Empoli man passed the test last month when he played with the Primavera against Novara, since then he has always been on the bench with the first team.

The player’s agsnt, Mario Giuffredi, expects Rui to debut on Thursday as he said: “He was on the bench for the Derby and against Milan, now he is ready, but it is normal that he will need time to return to his maximum level. From now until Christmas, I hope he can play a few minutes, then prove his true value with the Roma shirt.”
