RomaPress – Veteran striker Marko Arnautovic has made it clear to Bologna he wants to leave the club and join Roma as soon as possible.
The 34 year-old is eager for one last adventure at a big European club and is keen to reunite with Jose Mourinho—who he played under during his loan spell with Inter during their treble-winning 2009/10 season.
Throughout the summer, his entourage, which is led by his brother Daniel, have been in consistent contact with Bologna regarding his future. He informed the Rossoblu he’d be happy to remain, but made it clear if he received an intriguing offer from a big club he’d take it into consideration.
After the Giallorossi exited discussions for Gianluca Scamacca due West Ham’s asking price, they shifted their focus to potential low cost options—and Arnautovic emerged as a prime candidate.
A member of his entourage confirmed to RomaPress they’ll likely meet with Bologna in the coming days to help facilitate a move to the Italian capital. In addition, they want to convince the club to lower their asking price for the striker as they deem it “too excessive”.
