Roma midfielder Jordan Veretout continues to be linked with a transfer exit given the Giallorossi’s double pursuit of Davide Frattesi and Georginio Wijnaldum.
The ex-Fiorentina man has been linked with a host of clubs throughout the summer including Milan, Newcastle United, Napoli, and Spurs. However, Ligue 1 side Marseille has emerged as the new favorite to land the Frenchman, increasing their efforts to strike a deal with Roma.
Daniele Longo of calciomercato.com reports the French outfit held talks with the Giallorossi earlier today regarding a potential deal for the 29 year-old, who’s been in the Italian capital since 2019.
Marseille are keen to land Veretout, however, they first have to offload Kevin Strootman, the former Roma man—who could be on his way to Hellas Verona in a deal involving Darko Lazović.
