Marseille still pursuing Roma’s Jordan Veretout

Jordan Veretout’s club future remains clouded in mystery despite the Giallorossi kicking off their 2022/23 campaign in less than two weeks.

The Frenchman has been up for sale by the capital club after losing his place in Jose Mourinho’s 3-4-1-2 set-up the Special One started to utilise in the second half of last season.

Several clubs in Italy and France have expressed interest in acquiring the former Aston Villa man, but Marseille have been the most interested of all so far.

According to SportItalia journalist Gianluigi Longari, the possibility of the midfielder leaving Roma and returning to Ligue 1 with Igor Tudor’s side remains open. They’ve been tracking Veretout for months and remain favorites to land him.
