Roma fullback Matias Vina was once again asked to feature as a central defender alongside Chris Smalling and Roger Ibanez, given Gianluca Mancini’s suspension.

The Uruguayan international was recently praised by Mourinho for his spirit of sacrifice and dedication to the Giallorossi’s cause.

“I have no problems in covering multiple roles,” he told the club in his post-match interview. “I train every day, and each time the coach asks me to come in I must found myself ready for anything.”

“Recently I played on the right and now I must prepare myself to play as the third defender on the left. Winning is all that matters.”

“For me it’s normal, it’s something all South American players have – the will to fight. I can help the team whenever we are struggling, but we must always play to win,” he concluded.
