RomaPress – Uruguayan international Matías Viña has arrived in the italian capital ahead of his permanent transfer from Palmeiras to Roma.
The 23 year-old touched down later than expected this evening at Fiumicino airport after his connecting flight from France was delayed by almost an hour.
Viña emerged from the terminal just after midnight, accompanied by his agent, Fernando Neira, ahead of his medical examination at Villa Stuart hospital later in the morning.
The defender will cost the capital club around €11 million in total and will pen a four-year contract. Following his medical, however, he will be subject to a ten-day quarantine period due to Italy’s COVID-19 protocols.
The move means Roma have finally found their substitute for injured left back Leonardo Spinazzola, who is expected to be out of action until at least January.
