Matías Viña: “The group welcomed me with open arms. Everybody’s contributing.”

After last night’s 0-4 away win at Salernitana, Uruguayan defender Matías Viña spoke to the club’s official channel.

“This is the fourth consecutive win. I’m very happy and satisfied with the team’s performance. Everybody’s giving a huge contribution. You can see this unity amongst us on the pitch.”

On growing more comfortable since joining the club:

“The group welcomed me with open arms and helped me integrate into the training sessions as well as the official matches. When I speak of people welcoming me, I’m not only referring to my teammates and the technical staff, but everybody who works at Trigoria. This gives you a huge confidence boost. It’s helping me a lot.”

On what needs to be improved going forward:

“The mentality needs to be on a game after game basis, we need to train hard at Trigoria and play with a clear objective: to come away with the three points.”
