Matías Viña to remain at Roma despite poor first season

The future of Matías Viña seems it will continue to unfold in the Italian capital despite an underwhelming first season with the club.

According to Corriere dello Sport, in fact, Viña wants to redeem himself in the eyes of José Mourinho.

After a good start to the season, the Uruguayan left-back – who was brought in as an emergency signing to replace injured Leonardo Spinazzola – fell behind Nicola Zalewski.

The Polish international impressed everyone and made the left flank his own after Viña failed to convince the Special One in crucial parts of last season.

Despite interest from abroad and Spinazzola’s return, Viña is set on continuing his career in Italy.
