Nemanja Matic will depart Roma on a permanent deal to Rennes.
The Serbian midfielder is expected to travel to France later today in order to undergo his medical before signing a long-term deal with Stade Rennais.
According to Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, Roma were unaware of Matic’s involvement in talks with Rennes up until a few days ago.
The player had already agreed to terms with the French club and refused to train any further with the rest of the team. As a result, Matic’s attitude and behavior sparked a dispute between Jose Mourinho and his teammates.
