Maurizio Sarri complains about Mourinho’s suspended ban

Andy Mattioli

Maurizio Sarri did not sound too happy with the way the FIGC suspended Jose Mourinho’s ban following the incident between the Special One and Serie A official Marco Serra.

The ex-Napoli coach addressed questions regarding the disparity in treatment between Mourinho and himself as Sarri’s suspension last year remained in place for a number of games despite Lazio’s appeal.

“I think the disparity in treatment is due to his career,” Sarri told reporters on the eve of Lazio – AZ Alkmaar. “I think that’s what they look at more than anything else.”

When asked about Mourinho’s comments regarding the level of this year’s Conference League compared to last year’s, Sarri replied, “I don’t agree with him.”
