Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri was asked in today’s press conference about Mourinho’s comments regarding expectations surrounding Roma’s campaign objectives and the Special One’s mention of Lazio spending almost €40 million in this transfer window.
“We didn’t spend €39 million,” reiterated Sarri. “We have made important investments.”
“If someone spent money this summer it’s Roma. They’ve spent a lot of it.”
“I want to thank Mourinho for his confidence in me,” continued the ex-Napoli coach, addressing Mourinho’s statement that Lazio should also be in the race for the league title. “I hope I can make him happy this season.”
“That’s why I also think that if Roma were to finish second, it would be a huge disappointment.”
