Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri spoke about the emotions behind playing the Derby della Capitale.

The Italian technician repeatedly commented on the importance and unique nature of the Rome derby between Lazio and the Giallorossi due to intense rivalry between the two clubs.

In an interview with La Repubblica, Sarri explained his complicated feelings about this match.

“The derby destroys me,” said Sarri. “From the outside it seems like an exaggeration, then when you experience it it’s deadly: everything you breathe becomes about the derby, there is a warehouse worker out there who can only think about the derby, there are cooks who can’t stop thinking about.”

“The derby ruins your life, but it’s beautiful,” he concluded.
