Maurizio Sarri is set to leave Lazio with immediate effect after handing in his resignation earlier today.

Following last night’s defeat to Udinese and a string of negative performances, the Tuscan coach handed in his resignation to Lazio President Claudio Lotito, reports Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport.

Lotito is set to accept Sarri’s decision and will begin the search of an interim coach: so far the options are ex-players Tommaso Rocchi and Miroslav Klose.

Sarri leaves Lazio after 2,5 years in the Italian capital.
