Mazzarri: “We must be compact against Roma.”

Torino manager Walter Mazzarri spoke today ahead of his side’s match against Roma tomorrow in Rome. These are his words:

Does Ljajic have ninety minutes in his legs?
He has not played for a long time. We won’t know this until he starts. At this moment, he is training well like everyone else.

The defence is still in an emergency.
Yes, because of the suspension of Burdisso. Beyond this aspect, we must be good in midfield and attack and not give space to Roma, who has special technical skills and qualities.

Is it true that you were close to Roma?
I only think about the future. The past does not matter. I’m only interested in what Toro does against Roma in Rome.

How is Niang (who underwent nasal surgery)?
Yesterday he tried out a mask and did some athletic work. Today we will see how he reacts with wearing the mask. He had fewer days than De Silvestri to get used to it, even though the injury was almost the same.

What do you expect from Roma?
We’ll defend with eleven. So the defensive phase starts with our midfielders and forwards, I expect to see a compact team. We’ve also worked on our attack, let’s see what happens.
