Roma’s Mert Çetin, who recently completed a loan move to Hellas Verona, spoke to Turkish outlet DHA and discussed his decision to join the Venetian side.
“Why didn’t I return to Turkey? Besiktas, Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray are great clubs. I am proud that they wanted me, but now I want to continue my career in Serie A,” said the defender.
“I think I improved this year — training with important players like Dzeko, Ünder and Perotti helped. I chose Verona because I want to play, it’s time to show my qualities”.
“After the match against Milan, Verona‘s management team expressed their interest in me to Roma. They already wanted me during the winter break, but I stayed in Rome thinking I would play more games”.
”After the pandemic, I didn’t find much space, so at the end of the season, I decided to go to Verona”.
