Former Giallorossi defender Mehdi Benatia is enjoying his retirement. The veteran centre-back once again spoke fondly of his time at Roma in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Throughout my career, both for club and country, I always tried my best to give a helping hand to the younger players,” he said.
“At Roma I looked after Dodò and Romagnoli,” he added.
“When I talk about the Giallorossi I always feel a certain way about it.”
“I would have happily stayed forever in the capital,” said Benatia. “Unfortunately it wasn’t possible, but I keep following the team with a lot of affection.”
“If Roma somehow manage to keep Pellegrini, Abraham and Zaniolo I think they can achieve some great things. I hope they win the Conference League.”
