Roma are reportedly in talks with Memphis Depay and his entourage, but a January move remains difficult for the Dutch attacker.
Depay’s contract with Barcelona expires in June and the ex-Lyon man has drawn interest from numerous European clubs including Manchester United, Tottenham, Arsenal, Newcastle and West Ham.
Over the past few days, several reports stated that Roma have made the most concrete steps toward landing Depay. The Giallorossi would be interested in signing the Dutch international until the end of the season with the possibility of extending his stay.
The player himself, claims footmercato, is interested in Roma’s most recent inquiry, and could motivate him to push – despite Barcelona’s objections – for a January move away from Spain.
