The saga of the potential sale of AS Roma continues to drag on.
The Italian capital club has been engaged in negotiations with The Friedkin Group since October but after striking a deal in March, the sides opted not to close the operation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since then, the parties have been unable to reach a new agreement as Friedkin is not willing to pay the originally agreed upon sum.
Goldman Sachs, the bank tasked with handling the sale, is searching for alternative investors as rumors emerged yesterday that Micky Arison, the owner of the NBA franchise Miami Heat, could be an option.
The American, though, has flatly denied to Il Tempo that he’s interested in acquiring the Giallorossi.
“I have no interest in buying a football club,” He said.
“The rumors about Roma? I don’t know what you are talking about, there is nothing”.
