Milan attacker Alexis Saelemaekers admitted he was happy his 97th minute equalising goal helped his team avoid a detrimental league defeat this evening against Roma.

The Belgian scored in the final moments to cancel out Tammy Abraham’s 94th minute goal and earn the Rossoneri a much needed point at the Stadio Olimpico.

“The team and results are more important but I’m glad to have scored an important goal,” he told DAZN.

“It’s a shame we didn’t get the three points, they would’ve been huge. So I’m glad we got a draw but we wanted a victory.”

“The details were the difference tonight. This was a game between two strong teams and it was tough to find space. Now we’ve got to focus on our next match and ending the season in the strongest way possible.”
