Milan boss Stefano Pioli addressed the media ahead of Thursday’s match-up at the San Siro between Milan and the Giallorossi.

“Our objective is to have all the players available. We needed to rest and then work hard. We did both things well. We have recovered many players who may not be 100% already, but will soon reach that level of condition.”

“The situation with COVID is not a normal situation for anyone. We are all experiencing a particular moment and the first goal is to preserve everyone’s health: we are very careful to lead the safest kind of life we can at this moment.”

“We all have to raise our attention a lot at work because it may happen that someone does not have the opportunity to play as a result.”

On Rebic and Leao coming back:

“None of those who will return tomorrow have the 90 minutes in their legs. They are players who are still finding the rhythm and they will need to play some minutes to try to improve their condition.”

On who will start between Zlatan and Giroud:

“My choices will depend on the physical condition of these players and then on the interpretation and adaptability to the game.”

“They both had some problems. Olivier had started very well, I expect a lot from him: he is intelligent, he can do even more even if he is already doing well.”

“Playing with two strikers is a solution that we have already adopted, we will see from game to game.”

On Roma:

“In the match in Rome we played excellent football and when in numerical parity we were clearly superior.”

“Roma has changed, Mourinho has done a great job; this is a strong Roma side that must aspire to play in the Champions League. All matches weigh a lot, tomorrow’s match is worth three heavy points.”
