Milan head coach Stefano Pioli attended today’s pre-match press conference on the eve of the Rossoneri’s showdown with Roma at San Siro.
The Italian technician addressed the media ahead of a must-win game for both teams.
“Mourinho is a top coach,” Pioli said of his opponent for tomorrow. “He’s intelligent, clever and shrewd, before certain matches he always exalts his opponents in order to take the pressure off his own team.”
“We want to improve our record, we want to do better than we did in the first half of the season. Improving it would guarantee you third place, if you want to aspire to something more you have to improve on the pitch.”
On his unbeaten record versus Mourinho, Pioli said, “They are never clashes between coaches but between teams trying to put their qualities on the field. Playing against Roma is never easy, they are a very physical and organized team, they are very dangerous on set-pieces. We will have to put in a high-level performance to win.”
