Milan management await ownership’s approval for Zaniolo deal

Andy Mattioli

Milan are closing in on out-of-favor Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.

The Rossoneri are in close contact with the player’s agent who is trying to make a deal before the transfer deadline.

According to Corriere dello Sport, following their first official meeting with Roma, Milan turned their attention to the American owners, and are now awaiting the green light to make a concrete proposal.

Milan’s hesitancy stems from the Giallorossi’s demands: General Manager Tiago Pinto reiterated once again that Zaniolo will only leave on a permanent deal for no less than €35 million including add-ons.

For Milan, this type of investment in January requires approval from all members of the club’s top management.
