As reports of negotiations between Elliott and Investcorp for Milan’s ownership continue to intensify, the future of Alessandro Florenzi has come into question.
The Italian fullback – currently out with a meniscus injury – is on loan at Milan until June with an option to buy set at €4.5 million.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are expected to trigger the option and sign Florenzi on a long-term contract regardless of the ownership change.
Directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara have met with Florenzi’s agent and are satisfied of his role within Stefano Pioli’s roster.
