Young Roma midfielder Tommaso Milanese is closing in on a loan move to Serie B.
According to Il Tempo, the 19 year-old is joining Alessandria on a loan deal from Roma for the 2021/2022 campaign. The Piedmont-based side will have an option to buy, however, Roma will posses a counter-option, therefore ensuring the player is still under their control.
The deal comes after Milanese was the subject of several transfer rumors throughout the summer despite having signed a contract renewal only ten months ago.
Exit rumors for Milanese cropped up after he was excluded from Jose Mourinho’s preseason roster—which many considered a surprise.
Milanese made his senior debut for Roma last season and drew attention for his strong performances, registering one goal and one assist in three Europa League appearances.
Several clubs, including Torino, expressed interest in acquiring the midfielder on a permanent transfer in recent months, but nothing materialised.
