Milan’s Davide Calabria credits Roma in First leg of Europa League quarterfinals: “They are strong.”

Milan captain Davide Calabria reflected on his side’s 0-1 defeat to Roma at the San Siro stadium on Thursday night.

At full-time, the Rossoneri defender credited Roma for limiting Milan’s offensive output.

“They are strong, they were good in the first half,” Calabria told Rai Sport after the game. “They have phenomenal players, it’s part of football.”

“Well done to them for containing us in defense and scoring a decisive goal from a corner kick. We weren’t that good at finishing our chances, despite creating so many opportunities.”

“Obviously we’re in a difficult position but we can still come back in the return leg,” he added.

“El Shaarawy on the right? It was a good move from them in order to contain our left side,” Calabria concluded.
