Milan defender Malick Thiaw looked back on this season with the Rossoneri and pointed to the match against Roma as the low point of the team’s campaign.

In an interview with Eurosport, Thiaw maintained that the Europa League was of great importance to Stefano Pioli’s side and thus the elimination with Roma caused great upset.

“I think losing against Roma was a key moment for us this season, everyone judged us based on those two games,” said Thiaw.

“We wanted to win the Europa League, so if I had to choose a unique moment I would say the match against Roma proved to be the deal-breaker.”

“Lukaku? I think he’s a really strong opponent, kind of like Lautaro Martinez,” he added.
