Milan have slowed down their talks with Roma for out-of-favor attacker Nicolo Zaniolo.

Despite the efforts of Zaniolo’s entourage, the Rossoneri are unable to move forward with the deal, reports Sportmediaset, as their ownership have made it clear the club will not provide Milan’s management with any extra budget for deals in January.

As a result, Milan can only sign Zaniolo on loan without including any obligations.

The only offer the Rossoneri can make is loan with buy option at the end of the season. This, however, is something Roma are not keen to accept only days away from the transfer deadline.
