Following Milan’s elimination from the Champions League semifinal, director Paolo Maldini discussed the highly criticised signing of Charles De Ketelaere.
In his post match interview with DAZN, Maldini defended the decision to sign De Ketelaere instead of Paulo Dybala in the summer of 2022: “It would have been easy to sign Dybala, but would it have been right for our project?”
“By taking young lads you risk to see them struggling, it happened to De Ketelaere but this is our idea of football. It takes time, but we are still Milan.”
