Milan manager Stefano Pioli reflected on the team’s recent elimination from the Europa League at the hands of Roma.

During today’s press conference appearance, Pioli analyzed the Rossoneri’s Europa League exit on Thursday night.

“We weren’t able to play at our level, in terms of quality and energy; even though both legs were more balanced than you might think; we had more shots on goal and had better opportunities to score,” Pioli told reporters.

“The first goal Roma scored at the Olimpico shows exactly what we have failed to do on our own. The past is history, even if it is not good not to be in the past. Tomorrow we need to play a high level game,” said Pioli as Milan prepare to face Inter in a heated Derby della Madonnina.
