Mile Svilar bids farewell to Benfica as move to Roma edges closer

Shot-stopper Mile Svilar will become a new Roma player in the coming weeks.

Earlier this year, the 23-year-old reached an agreement with the Giallorossi over a move as a free agent in the summer.

Svilar was pursued by several European clubs but ultimately chose Roma due to José Mourinho’s strong presence as well as Tiago Pinto’s excellent relationship with his former club.

The young goal-keeper penned a farewell message to Benfica on his Instagram page, saying “Thanks for everything Benfica, it’s been a pleasure.”
