Second-choice goal-keeper Mile Svilar discussed the team’s preseason as well as his first impressions as a Roma player after signing with the club in free agency.
“We worked a lot this month and I’m getting to know Mourinho, the staff and the teammates,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“I’m happy with the way it’s going. I’m trying to give my best in every training session.”
“I still have ways to grow, of course, but that’s okay for now. The important thing is to get to the top of the athletic condition to be ready for the real games.”
When asked what convinced him to sign with the club, Svilar did not hesitate, “Everything. The coach, who is incredible, but also a great club, the project, the general manager I already knew at Benfica, the city. There wasn’t any reason to refuse this offer.”
“I’m here to help the team when Mourinho needs me. I’m not asking for anything else for the moment.”
“There is only work to be done. And I’m ready to prove my qualities to earn the trust that Roma has shown in me.”
“This challenge represents a great opportunity to refine my talent and then complete my journey as a footballer.”
