Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar has not only become the club’s first choice in goal but also the Giallorossi’s long-term option for the future.
In fact, today’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that chances are Roma have already made the decision to name Svilar their starting goalkeeper for now and the future, including next season.
As a result of his emergence under Daniele De Rossi, Roma do not wish to look beyond Svilar as their main shot-stopper for next season: the 24-year-old seems to have convinced everyone at the club to bet on him long-term after overtaking the veteran Rui Patricio in De Rossi’s hierarchy.
Svilar’s market value has also skyrocketed over recent weeks: now the player is worth at least €10 million after an initial evaluation of €4 million.
For the time being, Roma want to focus on qualifying for the Champions League before formally addressing any other plans involving Svilar, but the goalkeeper knows that this is his big chance to shine on a remarkable stage for his young career.
