Mile Svilar’s trainer: “We’re getting him ready to be at 100% next season for Roma.”

Although the deal hasn’t been announced, Mile Svilar’s transfer switch from Benfica to Roma is only lacking formalities.

The 22 year-old will officially join the Giallorossi next month once his contract with the Portuguese giants officially expires. He’s already undergone his medical examinations and penned his contract with the capital club—a formal announcement the only thing missing.

In case there was any doubt, Svilar’s performance coach, Jeroen Beeusaert, confirmed the deal on social media as he helps prepare the shot-stopper for next season.

“Getting in the off-season groove with Mile Svilar, getting him 100% healthy and performing at the highest level at AS Roma next season,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Some athletes need to be pushed, some athletes need to be slowed down: Mile belongs to the second category.”

The Belgium-born Serbian international will become the understudy to first choice veteran shot-stopper Rui Patricio.
