Milik and Mandzukić: the latest idea of Roma

Roma manager Paulo Fonseca admitted after this past weekend’s friendly draw against Cagliari that his team is still not set and that the club has plenty of business left to do on the transfer market.

The Portuguese manager is waiting on Chris Smalling to arrive while a deal could be made with Torino for Armando Izzo.

Meanwhile, the Giallorossi are still trying to finalise the sales of defenders Rick Karsdorp, Juan Jesus and Federico Fazio.

As for the strikers, the Giallorossi have an agreement in place with Napoli’s Arkadiusz Milik as of a few days ago, but the deal is being held up by Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis. Should De Laurentiis accept the offer of €17 million plus €8 million in bonuses from the Giallorossi, then Edin Dzeko would be free to join Juventus, reports Corriere della Sera.

With the money saved in wages from Dzeko’s departure, the Giallorossi could even consider bringing free agent Mario Mandzukić to the club alongside Milik.
