Former Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic weighed in on his former club’s turbulent start to their season.
In an interview with Radio Serie A, the Bosnian discussed the Giallorossi’s early performances and praised the impact of former Juventus teammate Paulo Dybala along with summer arrival Romelu Lukaku, who scored his third goal of the season against Frosinone.
“I’m very happy for Paulo because he’s found an extraordinary place, everyone has fallen in love with his class. Rome is a special place and deserves a player like of his caliber,” Pjanic stated.
“The start of the season was complicated and I hope that Roma can recover. Lukaku is doing very well, you can always count on his goals and in a team like Roma that plays in a way in which individual qualities must make the difference, he is perfect.”
Adding, “This year Roma has many options, especially in midfield. Mourinho communicates very well and tries to take pressure off the team. In the last two years, with a team that good but not great, he has taken Roma to a European final twice.”
“However, he is certainly the one who expects more from the team. In my opinion Roma has the potential to finish among the top teams in the league.”
“Totti? I wish for him a speedy return to Roma because you will not find anyone else who knows Roma as well as he does.”
