Legendary coach Mircea Lucescu shared his thoughts on Roma’s campaign in this year’s edition of the Europa League.
The Romanian manager called Mourinho’s side “favorites” in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“In European tournaments it’s not easy to win by playing well and the Italian teams have not only achieved results this year but have also shown plenty of quality,” he said. “It’s a sign that the movement is growing. And this growth could also have excellent consequences on the market, more and more important players will want to come to Serie A.”
“In the Europa League, on the other hand, I see Roma doing very well. Mourinho has become more balanced over the years but his teams show incredible anger, and the way he overturned Feyenoord says it all. I see them as favorites, even compared to Juventus.”
