Roma attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan praised his teammates for their fighting spirit after they beat Sampdoria 1-0 tonight in Liguria.
The Armenian scored the only goal of the affair midway through the first half to list the Giallorossi past Marco Giampaolo’s men.
“It was really important that we won tonight,” he told DAZN. “We suffered a bit in the second half, but luckily we got a goal before half time.”
“It’s also crucial to get a victory coming off an international break because it’s always tough. I applaud my teammates for fighting and winning this one.”
“We need to keep looking forward. We can’t look at the past in regards to regrets from certain games. We need to stay focused and worry about the next game.”
Before exiting, the attacker addressed his contractual situation as rumors regarding him penning a new deal are starting to increase.
“We’ll discuss my contract renewal in the next few days,” smirked Mkhitaryan before departing.
