Henrikh Mkhitaryan spoke to DAZN after making his return to the starting line-up in tonight’s win over Udinese.
The Armenian international spoke of the win’s importance ahead of Sunday’s derby and shared his thoughts on losing the team’s captain, Lorenzo Pellegrini, for the weekend.
“It was important to win tonight because we know that in 3 days we are playing the derby. It was important to work on the team’s mentality ahead of the derby.”
On what he and his teammates make of Pellegrini’s last-minute red card:
“I can’t say much, but it’s bad for us to have lost our captain for the derby. He is a leader, who leads the team. We have lost a very important player, let’s hope it won’t happen again. It seems to me that there was no second yellow.”
