Mkhitaryan: “Ever since I arrived I settled in well in Rome. It would be nice to stay here”.

Roma attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who is at the club on loan, spoke to the official Youtube channel of the Italian Embassy in Armenia. Here’s what he had to say:

You recently talked about your plans to stay in Rome. What levels do you want to reach, the Champions League?
Well, from the first day I arrived in Rome, I settled-in well: with the team, the city — it was all fantastic. Obviously it would be nice to stay here. The main objective would be qualifying for the Champions League and then obviously playing and winning titles.

What has Serie A given you?
Comparing it to English, German and Ukrainian football, it has its particularities. Some underestimate the Italian league, but it is very interesting to play here. It may not be like 20 years ago, but I am certain that the league is continuing to grow and the choice to come here on loan speaks for itself. I am very happy to be here, playing in Italy with these fans is truly incredible. I had heard a lot about the fact that the fans here were crazy — in a good way — but I didn’t really believe it. I am very happy to play for Roma and these supporters.
